Test Builds for Windows and Linux

By The Wanderer

In order to make sure that the widest audience possible can play Sine Fine, we have released a test build of the game on a private page on itch.io for both Windows and Linux! You can jump on our discord to find the link. The game will eventually be available on stores like Steam and others.

However, for the moment the test build is available for free since we would like to know how well it runs on other people’s systems, and to catch early issues especially when it comes to Linux builds. Unfortunately, my home PC has an RTX 4080 and not having access to many other PCs there could be many issues we do not anticipate. So if you have some time, please check it out.

The game should automatically upload a (GDPR compliant!) log file to our servers (if you agree). It does not contain any Personally Identifiable Information (PII). If you find any issue and would specifically want me to look at your specific log, be sure to upload just the SineFine.log file you will find in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Vindemiatrix Collective\Sine Fine (Windows) or .config/unity3d/Vindemiatrix Collective/Sine Fine (Linux).

There is not much to see yet. You can have a look around the galaxy map and the system screen. The current build has set everything to maximum details (no ray-tracing, but might be added in the future) so if it runs fine, you should be good. Of course there is little to no simulation of the game logic happening in the background just yet, and that will have its impact on performance.

If you find any issues, please let us know via our Discord
